Forty Putney Road Bed & Breakfast is a stately French Provincial home on an acre of land overlooking the Retreat Meadows pond on the West River.

Within walking distance from downtown Brattleboro with all of its restaurants, galleries, and shops, we are worlds apart in an idyllic setting, yet have easy access off I-91.

All rooms have a private bath, queen-sized bed, TV, VCR, modem hookup, wireless dsl, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, and robes.

The in-house pub offers guests beer and wine. A full breakfast is served each morning.

Set on a scenic country road, just north of Putney village, guests at the Ranney-Crawford House enjoy the best of Vermont. Surrounded by meadows and working farms, the sounds and sights of the country promise a relaxing visit.

The guest rooms, in our two century old manor house, are large and sunlit, have private baths, air conditioning and two have fireplaces. A full several course gourmet breakfast is served.

Cycling, kayaking, antique and craft studios, music and theater events abound. Arnie Glims cycling cue sheets will guide you along our lovely roads (available on web site), and if your interested, Arnie would be happy to go out riding with you as well.

Hickory Ridge House is a gracious federal style farm house completed in 1808 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Theophilus Crawford House. For over a century Hickory Ridge House was the home of the Crawford family, it has been an inn since the early 1980’s.

This beautiful example of American architecture is now our home and we invite you to share with us its unique charm. We have a total of eight spacious guest rooms, all with private bathrooms, many with fireplaces and each with the elegance of a bygone era.

Surrounded by peaceful gardens in the spring and summer and just a short walk to our local fresh water swimming hole. There is breathtaking foliage in the fall and a network of groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter; Hickory Ridge House offers the perfect escape from today’s hectic lifestyle.
